Since babies do not come with instruction manuals, yoga based movements and techniques help to free babies from suffering from digestions troubles and liberate their restlessness into peaceful sleep and happiness. You, as the caregiver, do not need any yoga experience to calm your baby and help him or her grow. All you need to do is breathe, love and move!
Baby yoga can promote better sleep by engaging muscles then releasing them, improve digestion and ease wind and colic pain by massaging the intestines through body movement and positioning. It can stimulate neuromuscular development through movement and touch, and whilst all this is happening, you and baby are having lots of fun whilst meeting new mums.
Baby massage classes effectively and enjoyably teach the parent simple, basic, gentle, massage techniques to massage, soothe, and nourish your baby. As the oldest and the most natural of all the healing arts, massage offers a special way of caring for your baby.
For babies suffering from colic, massage offers the necessary relief helping to release the muscles in spasm and enable the trapped wind to move on – this usually takes one to two weeks.
Massage can be very valuable for babies and young children with special needs. It provides a good source of sensory and muscle stimulation, which is beneficial to all babies, but may be particularly good for babies with special needs, such as developmental disabilities and Downs Syndrome.
