Winning The Lost Property Battle
Have you ever had to track down lost property? How often have our
children come home looking sheepish because they have lost something
at school? Once too often for many parents. The brand new (or
even old) jumper, blazer, hat, shoes or even the mobile phone, are
items that parents can least afford to replace. In fact it would be
preferable to never have to face replacing any expensive item of
clothing. I would imagine there is no mother that has not drilled the
kids on the need to "take more responsibility for their things".
The majority of children are capable of looking after their things and
can certainly be taught the importance of this skill from an early age.
What's more, as parents we can make this learning experience easier
for children by clearly labeling their possessions so that if they are
misplaced they can be easily identified by the child.
Labels can help children to be more organised and responsible.

can help to design with their own lettering style and picture
enable them to readily identify what belongs to them and keep track
of it. This gives them a better sense of control and responsibility for
their belongings.

life easier for the children.
How nice it would be to hear "Hi mum, I lost my jumper today, but I
found it again all by myself!" to which you reply "Well done!" And well
done mum for making it easier by having the jumper clearly named.
